Our curriculum
Reigniting a love for learning across a range of subjects
Miniland Farm Primary School
At Miniland School, we believe every child can flourish when given the right support, care, and opportunities. Our curriculum is built around the unique needs of our pupils and the special environment of the farm with a broad and balanced primary education.
Learning here is hands-on, meaningful and fun. Children grow in confidence by caring for animals and exploring the outdoors while ensuring access to literacy, numeracy, and creativity through meaningful, real world contexts. The farm setting provides daily opportunities for practical, experimental learning that is purposeful and engaging.
We place great importance on wellbeing, resilience, and preparing children for the next steps in life. Every child has their own learning journey, and we celebrate progress big and small. Our teaching emphasises functional learning, emotional wellbeing, and preparation for future stages of eduction and life.
We work in partnership with families, therapists, and the wider community to ensure that our curriculum is ambitious yet flexible, reflecting each child’s personalised learning pathway. By fostering curiosity, joy, and a love of learning in a safe and supportive environment, we aim to enable all pupils to thrive, achieve and belong.

Miniland Farm School
Miniland Farm opened in September 2025 as a full-time primary school setting for SEN students. At our school, we embrace the beauty of nature while providing a bespoke curriculum that aligns with the National Curriculum, including all primary subjects. Our unique setting allows students with Special Educational Needs to engage with the world around them in a hands-on and meaningful way. With a core focus on both personal and social development and emotional literacy, we use our farm as an interactive classroom, where learning is grounded in the care and understanding of animals. Each day, pupils have the opportunity to interact with a variety of animals, fostering their confidence and nurturing vital skills such as empathy and responsibility. Our dedicated staff are trained to adapt lessons to meet individual needs, ensuring that every student can thrive at their own pace. Through sensory activities, practical skills, and collaborative projects, we create a fun, inclusive environment where learning becomes a joyful experience. Every child is encouraged to explore, learn, and grow!
