Improving wellbeing and mental health
Sharing our love of animals with the community
We are delighted to share Miniland with local community groups.
With the support of the East Hampshire Grow up Fund, Miniland Farm opens during the school holidays, providing small groups with the opportunity to spend time in an outdoor therapeutic environment. These sessions are open to targeted groups with a focus on wellbeing and mental health for the elderly, adults with autism and other SEN adults/children.
The sessions are focussed on delivering wellbeing, improved self-regulation, reducing social anxiety, increasing social interaction and promoting communication and self-esteem in vulnerable groups. We also invite local children’s groups and their families to join us for fun festive events like meet Santa and Easter egg trails, these events also include time spent with the animals
Just to say a big thank you for our lovely visit yesterday! Our residents had a great time. It was so nice to see their facial expressions with the animals. You all did an amazing job and we cannot thank you enough for the warm welcome.
"Thank you so much for yesterday afternoon. It was lovely to meet you and your staff, who were all so kind and friendly and the lunch was amazing, especially the banana cake! The residents were happy and instantly relaxed, which was so nice as living with dementia can sometimes be unpredictable."
The residents and staff had such a great time, was truly a magical moment for all! Thank you so much for such an amazing opportunity. We really do appreciate all the hard work from you and the staff for making it so special for our residents!
